Pressure swing adsorption oxygen production equipment

Process principled

Pressure swing adsorption oxygen production equipment (also known as PSA oxygen production equipment) uses PSA special molecular sieve to selectively adsorb impurities such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water in the air under normal temperature and pressure conditions to obtain higher purity oxygen (93 %±2).

Since the pressure swing adsorption oxygen production equipment entered industrialization, the technology has developed rapidly. Because of its price-performance ratio in the low-to-medium output range and the occasions where the purity requirements are not high, it has strong competitiveness, so it is widely used in steel-making fluxing. , Blast furnace oxygen enrichment, pulp bleaching, glass furnace, wastewater treatment, and other fields.

Domestic research on this technology started earlier, but the development has been relatively slow for a long period of time. Process Description

The oxygen production system is mainly composed of an air compressor, air cooler, an air buffer tank, a switching valve, an adsorber and an oxygen balance tank. After the raw material air passes through the suction port filter to remove the dust particles, it is pressurized to 3~4barg by the air compressor and enters one of the adsorbers.

The adsorber is filled with adsorbent, in which moisture, carbon dioxide, and a small number of other gas components are adsorbed by the activated alumina at the bottom of the adsorber, and then nitrogen is adsorbed by the zeolite molecular sieve filled on the upper part of the activated alumina.

The oxygen (including argon) is a non-adsorbed component and is discharged from the top outlet of the adsorber as product gas to the oxygen balance tank. When the adsorber is adsorbed to a certain level, the adsorbent in it will reach saturation. At this time, the adsorbent is vented through the switching valve, and the adsorbed water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and a small number of other gas components are discharged to the atmosphere, and the adsorbent is regenerated.

Each adsorber of PSA performs the following steps alternately:

PSA oxygen generator features

1. The unit is simple, and the moving equipment is only an air compressor and a cooler. 2. The requirement for molecular sieve is relatively low, and with the same oxygen production equipment, the molecular sieve consumption is small. 3. The equipment is small in size, so its cost is relatively low. 4. The requirements for the degree of automation of the entire equipment are relatively low. The air compressor, freeze dryer/condenser can be started and stopped separately from the oxygen generator or can be linked to control.
